Core Duties & Responsibilities
- Installation & First Fix: Installing wiring systems, conduits, trunking, and containment in new build and refurbishment projects across Derby, working closely with other trades like General Labourers and Carpenters.
- Testing & Inspection: Conducting rigorous electrical testing, inspection, and certification (EICRs) for commercial and domestic properties, ensuring full compliance with the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
- Fault Finding & Repair: Diagnosing and rectifying electrical faults in complex systems, from lighting circuits and power distribution to machinery controls, often in time-sensitive environments.
- Maintenance Schedules: Performing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical systems within industrial units, retail parks, and office buildings throughout the DE1 postcode.
- Second Fix & Finishing: Fitting sockets, switches, light fittings, consumer units, and other electrical accessories to a high standard of finish.
