Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities and learning experiences that support all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, promoting physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development.
  • Provide high-quality care for children, including supporting with personal care routines such as feeding, nappy changing, and toileting, while maintaining impeccable hygiene and safety standards.
  • Observe, assess, and accurately record each child's progress and development, contributing to detailed learning journals and maintaining open, constructive communication with parents and guardians.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a cohesive nursery team, supporting colleagues, sharing best practices, and contributing to a positive, inclusive, and stimulating environment for both children and staff.
  • Ensure the welfare and safeguarding of all children is paramount at all times, adhering strictly to all nursery policies, procedures, and statutory guidelines, including health and safety and child protection protocols.

What We're Looking For

  • A recognised Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years/Childcare qualification (e.g., CACHE, NVQ, or equivalent) is essential. Proven experience working as a Nursery Nurse, Early Years Practitioner, or in a similar role within a nursery setting.
  • A thorough, up-to-date understanding and practical application of the EYFS curriculum. A genuine passion for early childhood development and a patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with children, parents, and colleagues. Strong teamwork ethic and a proactive, can-do attitude.
  • A valid, enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one immediately through Carer Agency). Paediatric First Aid certification is highly desirable.
