Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily activities of warehouse operatives, including picking, packing, loading, and unloading, ensuring all tasks are completed to a high standard and within designated timeframes.
- Plan and delegate workloads effectively, utilising Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to monitor stock levels, manage inventory accuracy, and coordinate with the transport office for dispatches.
- Uphold and enforce strict health and safety regulations and safe systems of work, conducting regular toolbox talks, risk assessments, and ensuring all equipment, including MHE, is used correctly and maintained.
- Manage team performance, providing coaching, conducting return-to-work interviews, and addressing any conduct or performance issues promptly and professionally.
- Ensure the warehouse environment is kept clean, tidy, and organised, adhering to 5S principles and preparing for internal and external audits. You will also be involved in investigating and reporting any discrepancies or incidents.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor, Team Leader, or similar in a fast-paced logistics or distribution environment, preferably within the Dartford, Bluewater, or Thurrock regions.
- Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate a team, resolve conflicts, and drive productivity. Experience with temporary agency staff is a significant advantage.
