Core Responsibilities & Daily Tasks

As an Order Picker in Huddersfield, your day will be active and varied. You'll be using both technology and manual skills to maintain the flow of goods.

• Accurately pick products from warehouse locations using paper-based lists, RF scanners, or voice-pick systems.
• Prepare orders for dispatch by packing items securely, labelling cartons, and staging them in the correct loading bays.
• Perform regular stock checks and report any discrepancies or low stock levels to the team supervisor.
• Operate warehouse equipment such as manual pallet trucks and roll cages safely and in accordance with site guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment, promptly clearing any spillages or debris from aisles.
• Work collaboratively with other warehouse operatives, drivers, and supervisors to meet daily targets and deadlines.
• Adhere strictly to all health and safety protocols, including manual handling procedures and wearing appropriate PPE.

Essential Skills & Experience We Require

We are looking for candidates who are physically fit, reliable, and have a keen eye for detail. Previous experience is advantageous but not always essential for the right attitude.

• Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or order picking role is highly desirable.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good level of physical fitness for lifting, carrying, and being on your feet for a full shift.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills to understand orders, labels, and safety instructions.
• A strong commitment to health and safety in the workplace.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a positive, can-do attitude.
• Willingness to work as part of a team and follow instructions from supervisors.
