Your primary responsibility will be the safe, efficient, and timely transportation of goods across the UK. Role Details: Responsibilities & Requirements
- Safely operate a Category C+E (HGV Class 1) articulated vehicle on public roads, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Conduct comprehensive daily vehicle checks (walk-around checks) and report any defects immediately in line with company and DVSA standards.
- Plan and execute efficient delivery routes, often using satellite navigation and digital routing systems, to meet strict delivery windows.
- Load and unload goods as required, which may involve the use of tail lifts, forklifts (with appropriate certification), or working with site operatives. Manual handling may be necessary.
- Accurately complete all associated paperwork, including delivery notes, PODs (Proof of Delivery), tachograph records, and vehicle defect sheets.
- Maintain professional communication with transport office, customers, and site personnel. Represent the client professionally at all times.
- Adhere strictly to drivers' hours and working time regulations, ensuring full legal compliance and road safety.
- Maintain the vehicle's cleanliness and basic upkeep, reporting any maintenance needs promptly.
- Valid UK Cat C+E (HGV Class 1) Driving Licence with no more than 6 penalty points (certain endorsements may be restrictive; please disclose).
